rock-a-sock initiative

Rock A Sock for Free 3D Hands

Last week, staff across Insurance Brands Australia participated in a charity fundraiser called Rock A Sock Day, to raise funds and awareness for our philanthropic partner, Free 3D Hands.

Free 3D Hands, led by founder Mat Bowtell and his dedicated team, is committed to designing and producing 3D printed assistive devices. Their powerful work is solely funded by the contributions they receive, and they never charge recipients a single cent, even for postage. Their designs are also shared as an open source, to allow more people around the world to create quality assistive technology.

In support of this amazing cause that believes in a world where all people should have equal access to free assistive technology, on the 25th of October at 11am Insurance Brands Australia staff made their donations and rocked their custom Free 3D Hands socks for an hour as they went about their regular workday. This simple act spread awareness of the challenges faced by those who benefit from Free 3D Hands assistive devices. All funds raised during this event went straight to Free 3D Hands to support their incredible work, and as a bonus staff got pair of socks out of it too!

We’re proud to announce that we raised $2,085 for Free 3D Hands through this initiative. Thank you to everyone that donated and got involved across the country.
